Tapes from last time Donald Trump called Nikki Haley reveal another instance of a reluctant campaign surrogate.

Donald Trump, telling former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley to stay out of his campaign, was distinctly unimpressed with her recent critique of his reality TV candidacy.

“I think they should say nice things and should leave me alone,” the president said.

To which Haley responded: “Yes, sir.”

Haley resigned her position last week and is now the campaign’s economic adviser. The four-and-a-half minute phone call, obtained by CNN on Wednesday, was extensively recorded. “There are no scandals on the line,” is the only title on the recording. “Is this of legitimate interest to people?” the president presses.

“Do you want me to save the tape?” Haley asks.

“Do you want me to talk?” Trump asks.

“Yes, sir, I want it all,” she says.

“Can you talk to me today?” Trump asks.

“I spoke to him today.”

In short, he liked it.
